Motorman

The Motorman is primarily responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing drilling machinery and equipment.
The motorman will perform all maintenance to the equipment and including minor repairs in a safe and efficient manner under the direct supervision of the driller or the assistant driller. The motorman assists the Floormen with their duties on the rig floor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle for transportation to and from the rig locations.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Must be certified to operate the forklift, catwalk, and man lift
  • At least 1 year previous motorman experience or as deemed sufficient by management.
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, climb ladders, lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. A large portion of the work will be 13’ off the rig floor so good balance and coordination is a must.
  • Work is normally performed out-of-doors, where exposure to atmospheric conditions of extreme heat or cold. The job will require that occasional work will be done on slick surfaces due to weather, drilling mud, or oil/grease. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
